Local Spotlight
Ethan Howe, ActorEthan grew up in a small town in Alaska and moved to Redding a few years ago. His mother introduced the idea of pursuing voice over acting as a natural combination of his love of acting and playing video games. The seed was planted, and after attending a panel at Comicon a conversation with Crispin Freeman confirmed that was the direction he wanted to go. He moved to California and began taking acting classes in LA, recorded his demo in Santa Monica and landed an agent in Seattle. A few years later he ended up in Redding and he was encouraged by coworkers to apply for a role as an extra on the feature film 'The Dresden Sun' which was filming locally (2022). He reached out to Sabrina Jurisich, the Film Commissioner who connected him on that and other projects and opportunities continued rolling in from that moment forward.
His biggest joy in the industry is being able to collaborate with other amazing artists alongside him. Despite being raised in a rural area with no filmmaking opportunities, Ethan's perseverance is paying off. In the last year, he's secured roles in 5 movies and 1 tv show and he still hopes to achieve his dream to be one of the main characters in a AAA video game.
Ethan shares that this region is appealing to film makers because of the incredible talent and diverse locations. He thanks the Film Commission for providing networking and production opportunities that help kickstart his career. He is thankful for the film commission's knowledge and connections in the industry and for staying connected with everyone, including local actors which is a rare thing.
