This event will be held on March 18th, 2023 at the State Theatre in Red Bluff and will include two panel sessions (followed by Q&A) with the production team from The Dresden Sun and members of the Screen Actors Guild.

ABOUT OUR SPEAKERS



Kathryn Howell, San Francisco-Northern California Local President, SAG-AFTRA; Kathryn is a life-long actor who has played a wide variety of character roles on stage and in film and television. On screen she has played grieving Moms (Criminal Minds, The Zodiac, Cry in the Wild: The Taking of Peggy Ann), was terrified by a giant flying peach (James and the Giant Peach), and snatched at gunpoint by Sean Penn (The Assassination of Richard Nixon). She has been a drug addict, a homeless woman, and John Heard's alcoholic ex-wife (Necessity). On the lighter side Kathryn has had the privilege of portraying a backwoods psychic (Ray McKinnon's Chrystal), a conjoined twin in a 1930's freak show (Tales from the Crypt), and a sassy diner waitress opposite Vincent D'Onofrio and Gregory Hines (Good Luck).

Kathryn revived her BFA degree in Theatre from The University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and was awarded a full scholarship for advanced study at American Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco. Theatre Companies Kathryn has performed with include: Repertory Theatre of Lincoln Center, La Mama ETC, Berkeley Stage Company, San Francisco Rep, San Jose Stage Company, Magic Theatre, Eureka Theatre, Mason Street Theatre, Eastenders, Gumption Theatre, Carolina Playmakers.

Kathryn is a long-time member of Screen Actors Guild - American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA), and Actors' Equity Association (AEA). She received her AEA card at New York's Vivian Beaumont Theatre.

J?ack Trout, SAG Actor; Jack Trout is an American actor who has been involved in the film industry for over 25 years. He had a role in the new thriller, Peter Five Eight (releasing summer 2023) and also appears in the hit 10 episode series called, The Offer (2022). In 2020, Jack appeared in the award winning commercial by Atlantic/Land Rover Defender - Go Outside with John Mayer and then again in the commercial John Mayer Knows Computer Lingo. He has also appeared in the PBS documentary The Sacramento River of Life (2005) and on the Tom Stienstra Great Outdoors TV Show (2010). Between 1996 to 2008 he appeared on ESPN Outdoors, Outdoor Life Network, Fly Fishing Video Magazine, A Taste for Adventure & Charlie West Outdoors. Jack Trout is a member of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG/AFTRA) and an active member with the Shasta County Film Commission in Northern California.


Tyler Lockamy, Executive Producer, The Dresden Sun; Tyler Lockamy is a multiple award-winning film producer based in Redding, Ca. Tyler has been on set as an actor, director, and all around "get it done" guy, as is common on many independent film sets. He has also assisted in story development and produced multiple short films, music videos and TV pilots. Tyler most recently was on set as the Executive Producer for The Dresden Sun, the largest scale production that based in Shasta County on record with more than 90% filmed locally. The film is the second project Los Angeles-based Director Michael Ryan and Producer Tyler Lockamy with Archetype Pictures, have selected to film in Shasta County. The first was Interpreters: a C & Earth Chronicle - quantum 1, has won 6 awards, including Best Picture at the Kapow Intergalactic Film Fest and Best Feature Film at the Idyllwild Int. Cinema Fest.


Jessica Fletcher, Assistant to the Artistic Production Designer and Set Decorator; Jess has lived in Redding for 14 years as an active educator, director and performer in Redding's ever expanding theater community. Jessica received her BA in Dramatic Art from UCSB and her MA in scriptwriting from Victoria University of Wellington, in New Zealand. Her one act play, Spontaneous Combustion, won the Corwin Award and was produced at the Actor's Gang Theatre in Los Angeles. Her most recent writing credit is for the screenplay, Curtain Up, a full-length documentary film about Redding's own Historic Cascade Theatre, produced in 2019. She recently earned a Performance Art Industry Essentials certificate from the Tisch School of Drama.

Jess teaches scriptwriting, acting, and theatre improv workshops to both youth and adults and has worked for and performed with The Cascade Theatre, Riverfront Playhouse, Shasta College, and Redding Performing Arts Center. Jessica is the Drama Program Director at Cottonwood Creek Charter Elementary School and has directed Axiom's Summer Children's and Young Adults Theatre Productions. Miss Fletcher is also a professor in the Theatre Arts department at Shasta College and is the founder and facilitator of the annual Shasta College Original Plays Experiment (SCOPE), a free public script reading of student-written original plays, designed to celebrate students as emerging playwrights and promote the collaboration of performance artists from various Redding theatre companies.
