Casting is one of the first processes in preproduction, often involving a series of actor auditions in front of a panel including a casting director, producer, director and/or choreographer. The casting director and assistants assemble talent choices depending on the roles provided in the script. Auditions are held in facilities that range from production company offices to hotel rooms booked on a daily basis. In 2005, Casting Directors became members of Hollywood Teamsters Local 399.
